A major retail development planned along the U.S. 75 corridor is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of square feet of shopping space to Anna as one of North Texas' fastest-growing cities continues to expand.

Developers and city officials announced plans for Rosamond Crossing and Rosamond Town Center, a combined 750,000-square-foot retail project on the southeast corner of Rosamond Parkway and U.S. 75.

The developments are intended to meet the needs of Anna's rapidly growing population. City officials say Anna is projected to grow at a rate 13 times faster than the national average over the next decade.

The shopping centers are expected to include retailers such as Academy Sports + Outdoors, HomeGoods, Kroger, Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx, with additional tenants to be announced as construction progresses.

Developer Kenton McKeehan said some stores are expected to open in October, while the remaining businesses are scheduled to open by late next year.

The project is part of a broader wave of commercial development in Anna, where residential growth has accelerated in recent years, increasing demand for retail, dining and other services along the Central Expressway corridor.
