A business based in India has launched a partnership with the City of Richardson to attract foreign startups to the city. Startup Runway says it works as an incubator to help small businesses reach new markets.

"We're looking at innovative solutions that are capable of changing lives," says Chief Executive Mahesh Nandyala.

Startup Runway is moving into Richardson's "Innovation Quarter," a 1,200 acre corridor that aims to help entrepreneurs work with each other, the city and UT Dallas to develop new ideas.

"We feel our community has the qualities that make a city an ideal destination for businesses looking to expand their research and impact," says Mayor Bob Dubey. "Today is a tremendous vote of confidence in what we have to offer."

Dubey says Richardson is helping foreign businesses tap into a growing market as Texas gains a reputation as an international destination, but he also says local companies can be introduced to new markets.

"We are not just bringing new companies into our economy, we are integrating new energy, fresh perspectives and innovative solutions that will benefit each and every one of us," he says.
