North Texas' richest person just gave away a chunk of her fortune to have a medical school named for her.

Forbes reports Alice Walton's foundation donated almost a quarter of a billion dollars to pay for the new school in her hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas.

That's the home of her family company, Wal-Mart. Her new medical school looks to start classes in 2025. She has already given away right around $1.7 billion of her fortune to different charities and causes. She's worth right around $100 billion.
