A Rowlett man is charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting in Mesquite last week, police say.
The incident happened at about 11:38 p.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of N. Town East Boulevard, Mesquite police said.
Police said responding officers found 18-year-old Kavontae Slate with a gunshot wound to his chest. Slate was transported to an area hopsital, where he died from his injuries.
On Wednesday, police arrested Omarey Marshall of Rowlett and charged him with murder in connection to the shooting.
Police did not immediately say why the shooting took place.
