Rural Land sales began going up at the beginning of the pandemic, but they continue to go up now.

The Texas Real Etate Research Center at Texas A&M reports third quarter property sales were up 40% above last year. In central Texas, acreage sales were up 60%. and the cost of Texas land went up 25% in the third quarter to 37-hundred dollars an acre on average.

Economist Charles Gilliland says rural property values in the panhandle and trans pecos have exploded and are now hitting new highs.

He says investors are coming from all over the country and there's no indictation the sales will slow anytime soon.
