Saginaw High School head softball coach Gerald Money has died from the Coronavirus after spending nearly a month in the hospital. He was 52.

On December 17th, Money entered the hospital for what was described as pneumonia. They tested him for the Coronavirus and the result was positive.

In less than a week, he was on a ventilator.

In a tweet announcing his death, Saginaw High School describes Money as "a beloved teacher, coach and Army veteran" and saying he "will be greatly missed."

Friends say he had also been a police officer and a member of the Cleburne PD SWAT team.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dawn, and their two adult children.
