Police say celebratory gunfire may have put a nine-year-old child from San Antonio in the hospital.

They say the child was standing in his front yard and was hit in the leg by a bullet.

He went to the hospital, but police have not released his condition. They also have not made any arrests.

San Antonio Police say they get an average of 79 calls about gunfire every day, but on New Year's Eve two years ago, that spiked to 338 calls.
