Just before his trial was about to start, a Sanger man took a plea deal to avoid jail time for the online solicitiation of a minor.

A Denton County jury was to have decided whether Scott Green was competent to stand trial for three charges of the online solicitation of a minor. But Green instead took a deal, pleading guilty and he was put on four years deferred probation.

Officials say Green was one of 13 people busted in an undercover operation that authorities conducted over two days in January of 2019.

According to reports, the suspects all agreed to meet with an underage teen for sex, at a specified location. When they showed-up, police moved in.

Included in the other defendants were a former Wise County deputy and a cleric.

A judge ordered a presentence investigatigation and set sentencing for May 26.
