The run for the Plaid Jacket begins this morning at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
Sponsored by Charles Schwab since 2019, the Colonial tournament has been held at "Hogan's Alley" every year since 1946 with just two exceptions.
Five of the top ten players in the Official World Golf Ranking are in the 120-man field this year including Highland Park's Scottie Scheffler, the World Number One.
Scheffler failed to make the cut at last week's US Open in Tulsa so he's looking to get his game back this weekend.
Also in the field is Dallas Jesuit product Jordan Spieth who also struggled in Tulsa.
Other top names include Dallas's Bryson DeChambeau who posted a video showing him working on his swing at his Dallas home.
Plano's Will Zalatoris is playing the Colonial after finishing second in Tulsa, losing to Justin Thomas in a three-hole aggregate playoff on Sunday.
Colonial is a par 70 course of more than 7,200 yards and is one of the rare courses in the South with bentgrass greens which players like because they provide a smooth-as-a-pool-table putting surface.
