Search is on for man accused of running over woman during early morning altercation

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A disagreement turned deadly early this morning in Dallas.

It happened in the 2800 block of McKinney Avenue in Dallas. Police say 21-year-old Jasmine Hassan was walking to her car with a friend around 2:30 a.m. Apparently, the pair started arguing with a man parked in a nearby Chevrolet Camaro.

"There was a verbal dispute between the victim and the driver," says Sergeant Warren Mitchell with Dallas police. "The motive and circumstances surrounding that are unknown to us right now, but apparently she tried to confront the suspect driver."

A witness told police that the fight got physical, and at some point Hassan leaned her upper body into the driver's side window of the Camaro. That's when the driver sped away, police say, knocking Hassan to the ground and running her over.

Hassan was rushed to the hospital, but she did not survive.

Dallas police are searching for the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and driving the white Chevrolet Camaro.

Anyone who sees the suspect is asked to call 911 immediately. If you have any information about the incident, you're asked to contact Homicide Detective Theodore Gross at 214-671-3141 or by email at theodoregross@dallascityhall.com. Reference case number: 048422-2021
