A North Texas security technician has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for hacking into his client's home security systems, then watching them during intimate moments.
Telesforo Aviles, 35, pleaded guilty in January before his case went to the grand jury. He convinced ADT security clients to allow his e-mail to be included on a list to access their systems in order to test the cameras after he installed them. But he never ended the access and ultimately downloaded more than 9,600 videos.
"The disgust and violation I feel, knowing that Mr. Aviles watched me in my most intimate moments, is only a fraction of the outrage I feel knowing he watched my young son," a female victim told the court in an impact statement.
Federal prosecutors say Aviles watched numerous videos of naked women and couples engaging in sexual activity inside their homes.
