A semi-truck lost control and drove off an overpass along Interstate 35W Thursday morning in Fort Worth. Fort Worth Police say the truck lost control heading north on 35W about 3:20 a.m.

The truck hit the guardrail leading up to the overpass above Everman Parkway, damaging part of the guardrail and the concrete barrier above Everman. The truck stopped with the cab on the ground and trailer propped up against the overpass.

The driver was pulled from the cab and was not hurt.

Because of the damage, several lanes of 35W were closed during the busiest period of Thursday morning's commute. A separate crash southbound on 35W south of I-20 clogged side streets in the area.

Two wreckers hauled away the trailer and cab about 9:45 Thursday morning, but crews were still clearing debris from the frontage road. The northbound turnaround below 35W at Everman was still closed at 10:30.

Crews were also repairing damage to the guardrail and concrete barrier along the shoulder of the northbound mainlanes.

TxDOT says it keeps staff on-call and is assessing the extent of damage.
