Senate confirms Fort Worth native Langley to four-star general

The outcome was never in doubt; but nonetheless, the U.S. Senate has confirmed by voice vote a promotion to four-star general for Michael Langley.

The Fort Worth native becomes the first Black four-star general in the Marine Corps' 246-year history.

Gen. Langley is a graduate of Western Hills High School in the Fort Worth ISD and UT Arlington.

With the promotion, Gen. Langley will assume command of all U.S. military forces in Africa with the promotion.
