A well-known restaurant owner battling COVID-19 is finally out of the hospital.
Doctors, nurses and workers at Methodist Richardson Medical Center cheered as Hugo Miranda, 40, was wheeled out of the hospital.
He had spent the past 70 days there battling COVID-19, more than 60 of which were spent in the intensive care unit.
Holding his wife's hand, Miranda was tearfully reunited with his two young children in the lobby.
Miranda owns Hugo's Invitados in Las Colinas.
During his hospitalization, family and friends gathered for nightly prayer vigils outside.
Supporters waited outside as Miranda was wheeled into an ambulance for the ride to a long-term care facility, where he will continue his recovery.
