Despite hail the size of tennis balls and grapefruits reported in some parts of North Texas Sunday, the result has been mostly limited to tree limbs down and minor property damage.
Around 6 p.m. Sunday, severe weather developed over North Texas leading to Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in multiple north Texas counties.
There was very heavy rain that caused street flooding in some areas including Dallas where more than 1.5 inches of rain was recorded at Dallas Love Field.
The spotty nature of the rain is clear when comparing Love Field to DFW Airport less than 20 miles away which received less than one-tenth of an inch.
Oncor reported more than 40,000 power outages at the height of the storm but by 6 a.m. that figure was down to 14,000.
