After the shelter-in-place request was lifted for Irving locals, police began searching for a man suspected of shooting two people early Friday morning along Hidden Ridge.
Irving police issued the shelter-in-place request around 12:40 p.m. Friday for residents in the 800 block of Lake Carolyn Parkway.
The request, which applied to some Las Colinas residents, was lifted after about two hours as Irving police attempted to serve a felony warrant.
Witnesses identified the suspect as Luis Moreno and police found out that he lived on Lake Carolyn Parkway. When officers saw his car, they set up a perimeter and tried to serve a warrant for his arrest.
At that point, police advised people to stay inside or avoid the area. However, when officers entered Moreno's apartment, he was not there. The two shooting victims are in stable condition.
Moreno is wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police are asking that anyone with information please contact Detective Mayorga at (972) 721-3547, amayorga@cityofirving, or the Irving Police Department at (972) 273-1010.
