Guest safety is top of mind for outdoor attractions during the ongoing heatwave in North Texas.
Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor in Arlington are popular places to cram in late summer outing. But it's hot. Manager of marketing and communications, Brad Malone, says even at a waterpark like Hurricane Harbor - it's important to be aware of the heat.
"Sometimes it is easy to forget that you still need to make sure that you drink and stay hydrated, while you're out enjoying our slides and pools," Malone said. "Again, at Hurricane Harbor, we do have complimentary cups of water at any of our restaurant or drink locations and then guests can also bring in their unopened bottles of water as well."
Both parks have staff trained to watch out for signs of heat exhaustion in guests and full-time EMTs on staff in case of a heat emergency.
