Six Flags Over Texas has moved into the testing phase for Tormenta Rampaging Run, a massive new giga dive coaster set to open later in 2026 at the Arlington theme park.
The attraction, designed by Bolliger & Mabillard, will stand 309 feet tall and reach speeds of up to 87 mph. It will feature a 95-degree beyond-vertical drop of 285 feet and a total track length of 4,199 feet, making it the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in the world — as well as the first-ever giga dive coaster.
Park officials say the ride will break six world records, including the highest Immelmann inversion at 218 feet and the tallest vertical loop on a coaster at 179 feet. The coaster will anchor a new Spain-themed area called Rancho de la Tormenta.

Construction has been highly visible along Interstate 30, with the lift hill structure topped out late last year. Testing began recently with trains running on the completed track as crews perform final adjustments and safety checks ahead of the public opening.
The addition represents a major investment for Six Flags Over Texas as it celebrates its 65th anniversary season. The new coaster is expected to draw thrill-seekers from across the region and boost attendance at the park, which already ranks among North Texas’ top tourist destinations.
Tormenta Rampaging Run will have a minimum rider height requirement of 48 inches. The park has not yet announced an exact opening date, but it is scheduled for sometime in 2026.
