Victims in Allen mass-murder double-suicide now identified

UPDATE: ALLEN (1080 KRLD)- The victims in Allen's mass-murder double suicide have now been identified.

Investigators believe 19-year-old brothers Farhan and Farbin Towhid killed themselves and four relatives now named as their grandmother Altafun Nessa, their parents Iren and Towhidul Islam and their 21-year-old sister Tanvir Towhid.

All six bodies were found in the family home on Pine Bluff Drive near Allen's Story Park.

The family is part of a close-knit Bangladeshi community in Collin County. Police are not saying if they know why the brothers did it.

Allen Police discovered the bodies in a home just before 1:00 this morning when they got a call for a welfare check. Police Sergeant Jon Felty says family members were found dead with gunshot wounds.

"It looks like two teenage sons entered into an agreement that they were going to commit suicide and that they were going to take their family members with them."

He says there is no threat to the neighborhood. There is no record or problems at that home. Felty says the family appears to have immigrated from Bangladesh.
