Some American Airlines customers are being offered two years of identity theft protection because their personal information may have been hacked.
In a recent release, American Airlines says the hackers used a phishing campaign to get access to some employee e-mail accounts where some of that information may have been found.
An American spokesman says a "very small number of customers and employees" were affected but he does not offer any specific numbers.
Examples of the compromised information include birth dates, passport numbers, driver license numbers and medical data.
