Two people die in a small plane crash in McKinney

MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD)- The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed two people died in a plane crash Thursday morning in McKinney. DPS says the Cessna 414A had just taken off from McKinney National Airport with three people on board.

The plane crashed into a business along County Road 317 about 2,000 feet from the end of the runway. North Texas Natural Select Materials provides products like gravel, sand and concrete. The plane came to a stop against a mound of dirt.

Three people were on the plane. DPS says two people died at the scene; the third went to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Parkland says a patient arrived in critical condition.

The FAA will ultimately lead the investigation into why the plane crashed.
