You might notice many of Downtown Dallas' most iconic landmarks are going dark at night.
It is that time of year again for 'Lights Out, Texas' which is an initiative to help out birds that are migrating.
Jenna Guinn with Reunion Tower says they reduce their lighting to 50 percent after sunset and then go totally dark overnight.
"We will be dark overnight for those birds that are really migrating during that peak migration time," Guinn said. "Then we'll be back up to 50 percent in the morning."
The initiative is a reminder for everyone to do their part as well by dimming outdoor lighting and keeping the shades drawn.
"I believe this is our sixth year to participate," Guinn said.
The initiative is underway and lasts through May 15th.
