Some North Texas schools closed, delayed due to storm damage

Several schools around Dallas-Fort Worth are either closed Tuesday or delaying the start of class due to damage caused by severe storms that moved across North Texas before 7 a.m.

In Frisco ISD, three schools are closed Tuesday due to a power outage: Rogers Elementary School, Staley Middle School, and Memorial High School.

In Irving ISD, the start of class at de Zavala Middle School was delayed until 10 a.m. due to downed power lines and a nearby gas leak. All other schools in the district were expected to start on time.

At Plano West High School, the roof was partially ripped off the building.

In Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, classes were canceled Tuesday at Creekview High School and Blalack Middle School due to power outages.
