Some recent trials in Dallas County were called off this week after only a few jurors showed up. And it's a problem the county is working to fix.

According to reports, Dallas County officials thought they sent out 1,500 requests for jury duty. But when only 45 people showed up at the Crowley Courthouse administrators knew those who were missing weren't just ducking-out of their responsibility.
Judge Stephanie Huff, who oversees the juries at the Crowley courthouse says it appears a glitch in a new program that sends out the jury notices seems to be behind the issue.
Judge Huff says they may not be able to fix the problem in time to have jury trials in Dallas County by next week.
This all comes as courthouses statewide are trying to unstop a backlog of cases due to the pause in jury trials from the pandemic.
