Some vaccine recipients in Tarrant County say they wanted more lead time for appointments

Vaccination sites in Tarrant County received more than 26,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine this week, but some people waiting for appointments in Hurst say they would have liked more lead time. Some say they were notified Thursday night for an appointment at 9 a.m. Friday.

"I wish they would be more responsive more quickly. That's all," one woman said.

Another man said he worried some people, when they received their appointment notification, would be confused about which forms to print and which links to click to confirm.

"You've got to confirm immediately and then go through the procedure. It helps if you have a printer, which I don't. For as quick as it was set up, it's probably the best we could expect," he said. "I would say a lot of older people who are not tech-savvy probably had difficulty with it."

But both say the line moved quickly. A line of cars started a few blocks away from the conference center, snaking through a parking lot. Then they were guided down Campus Dr. to the parking garage at the center. People then waited in a line inside for their shot.

Those who had been vaccinated say the entire process only took about an hour.

"It was great to get my first vaccine. I feel really good about that," another woman said. "It wasn't bad, the wait. To get that many people through at one time, it was great."
