Police in Southlake are warning people of a TikTok challenge involving Orbeez guns.
What is an Orbeez gun? Also called Gel Guns, It is a toy gun that shoots a gel ball that is smaller than a paintball and not quite as painful. They're also knonwn as water pellet guns, gel blasters or splatterball guns.
Southlake Officer Brad Uptmore says the challenge calls for teens to freeze the gel balls and shoot unsuspecting people and vehicles.
Uptmore worries that someone with a real gun might think they are being shot at and fire back. He says so far they have had 8 instances of these types of shootings since February.
Uptmore reminds everyone that if the shooter is 17 or older, and they commit crimes involving Orbeez guns ranging from property damage to assault, they will go to jail.
