Southlake police came to the rescue after a woman found a snake in her shoe.

Police say this past weekend the woman found the snake when she went to get a shoe in her closet.

When police got there, an officer who police describe as "a little bit country" recognized it was a baby cottonmouth snake, and it was poisonous.

They carefully used snake tongs to pick it up, and rehomed it by driving it to Bob Jones Park. It's a heavily wooded area where the snake can quote - "live a long, fruitful, life away from shoes."
