DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A popular grocery store chain is working with the city of Dallas to open a new store in Oak Cliff.
Sprouts is eyeing a spot on the northeast corner of North Hampton Road and Fort Worth Ave where it hopes to build a new grocery store. It's asked Dallas for a zoning change to replace the restaurant and market that now occupy the corner.
It's been awhile since a new grocery store was built in Oak Cliff and people who live there have long complained about the poor selection of stores that provide fresh, nutritious food.
Several years ago H-E-B bought land on the northeast corner of West Davis and North Beckley Ave, and this year the company confirmed it's planning to open a store there. H-E-B says it's still looking for a developer. No word yet on when that store might open.
