This weekend, an annual tradition reaches its 100th anniversary just one day after Opening Day at the State Fair of Texas.

This Saturday is the 100th State Fair Classic - a football game that since 1985 has featured a meeting between Prairie View A&M and Grambling State University.

Monica Paul is Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission and says the event promises to bring so much more to the fair.

"I was trying to go through my mind and trying to think of what other types of sporting events do we have here that have 100 years of tradition," Monica Paul "I'm not sure there are many."

Event organizers say many of the fans come for the halftime show which features both marching bands.

Grambling State holds a 28-and-11 lead in the series. Prairie View A&M though comes into Saturday's game with a five-overtime win last year.
