A woman who escaped from a state jail is now back in custody, but only after a long and winding chase that ended in downtown Dallas.
Late last night, police began chasing a car driven by a woman who fit the description of the escapee. They tried to pull her over but she hit the gas and the chase was on.
It really twisted around southern Dallas County. Along I-20 toward Camp Wisdom and back toward downtown Dallas, then along I-45 and into the Mixmaster -- even going the wrong way for awhile on I-30 near the Dallas Convention Center.
Getting off the freeway, the woman led police through downtown Dallas and finally it all came to an end near the Dallas Farmers Market.
The woman was arrested and it turned out she had a passenger, her boyfriend who was also wanted by police. So he, too, was handcuffed and hauled to jail
