State Rep. pushing for changes to Fort Worth highway after fatal pile-up

The imminent prospect of icy roads comes nearly a year to the day since six were killed and dozens were injured in a massive accident in Fort Worth, and one state representative says nothing has changed.

On February 11th 2021, cars and trucks crested over a hill on the North Tarrant Express only to find the long, downhill stretch ahead had a pile-up at the end and there was nothing they could do to avoid it. The traffic had no place to go, because of barriers on either side of their managed lanes.

Fort Worth state representative Ramon Romero says nothing has been done to improve it.

He says he cannot get an answer out of the operators of the managed lanes. They have not returned our calls either. Six were killed and dozens were injured in the 70 vehicle pileup.
