Fort Worth police say a Christmas ornament stolen from the giant Sundance Square tree has been returned after an anonymous motorcyclist dropped it off Wednesday morning.
The hand-painted piece, created by a local artist, disappeared in the early hours of Nov. 23 and prompted calls for help from the public to locate it.
Sundance Square officials confirmed the ornament is back in good condition and will be reinstalled on the tree. The theft had circulated widely on social media as crews worked to identify when and how it was taken. Police have not announced any suspects or arrests, and the investigation remains open.
The return brings a bit of relief — and some unexpected holiday goodwill — as Sundance Square prepares for its busiest weeks of the season.
