Student at Wiley College graduate debt-free after anonymous donor pays off loans

Graduating students at Wiley College in East Texas, a historically black college, got the surprise of a lifetime at their graduation ceremony this past weekend.

At the end of the commencement ceremonies, the graduates were all told an anonymous donor had paid off their student loan balances.

In a news release, Wiley College said over 100 students were gathered when the school president made the announcement.

The college said in a news release that the estimated total of the balances owed by the students was about $300,000.
