In Dallas, we love our football. Thankfully our football loves us back.

Thanks to the Cowboys, Dallas is the second-best city for football fans in the nation, according to a WalletHub study that looked into 21 different metrics and ranked 249 total cities.

Top 5 Best Football Cities for Fans (WalletHub)
1. Pittsburgh, PA
2. Dallas, TX
3. Green Bay, WI
4. Los Angeles, CA
5. Boston, MA

"We looked at this both from the professional standpoint with the NFL, and then we also looked at it from a college standpoint with the NCAA," WalletHub analyst Cassie Happe said. "So that's where it gets kind of interesting. We broke down the report, based on city size as well since we have some smaller cities that really shone because of their NCAA, and then you have larger cities like Dallas that really stood out because of their NFL team."

Where did Dallas stick out? As the study says:

"Dallas is the second-best city for football fans because it hosts the most valuable football franchise in the entire country – the Dallas Cowboys, worth a staggering $9 billion dollars. That value isn’t just for show, either. The Cowboys have the second-highest number of Super Bowl wins, at 5, tied with the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas has the highest number of NFC East division championship wins, too.

As evidenced by their high value, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the most popular teams in terms of ticket sales and fan engagement."

How did the rest of North Texas area cities do?

126. Stephenville, TX
