Former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger today lost her final appeal.

The US Supreme Court denied a review of Guyger's murder case and 10-year prison term on Monday.

In September of 2018, Guyger mistakenly went to the wrong apartment in her building and thought that Botham Jean was an intruder. The off-duty cop grabbed her gun and opened fire.

Guyger has appealed the conviction on grounds that she honestly believed she was at the correct apartment.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals had also declined to hear arguments in the murder conviction and 10-year prison sentence.

Guyger becomes eligible for parole in about 2 years.
