The Texas Supreme Court reversed itself Friday and will hear arguments in a dispute between Boeing and the union that represents Southwest Airlines Pilots.
The case is over lost pay due to the worldwide ground of 737 MAX jets. The Southwest Pilots Association wants Boeing to pay millions in lost wages. SWAPA says when the fleet of MAX jets was grounded in 2019 after two crashes, pilots who would have been flying were out of work.
A judge initially dismissed the suit, an appeals court reversed that and said the suit should move forward and in May the Texas Supreme Court upheld that decision. But without explanation, the court today did an about-face and said it will hear Boeing's arguments over whether the suit should be dismissed.
No hearing date has been set.
