COLLIN COUNTY (1080 KRLD)- The Ford Motor Company will not have to face trial in Collin County in a suit over a Ford Explorer rollover accident.
The Texas Supreme Court ruled the victims filed their complaint several months outside a 15-year limit. The accident on the Bush Turnpike involved a 2001 Ford Explorer.
The attorney for the victim's family told the Supreme Court tried to argue the clock on that 15-year limit should not have started until the customer bought the SUV.
The Supreme Court disagreed and said Ford washed its hands of responsibility when it delivered the SUV to a dealership in Mesquite 10 months before the sale happened.
