The Dallas Police Department reports officers responded Saturday afternoon, July 13, to a robbery call in the 5600 block of Lemmon Avenue, where they arrested a suspect after a reported parking lot take‑down.

According to DPD's preliminary findings, the suspect was being transported to a local hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue units when the suspect tragically died en route; the cause of death remains under investigation.

The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and the city’s Office of Community Police Oversight have been notified and are conducting independent reviews of the incident.

Officials say additional details - including the identity of the suspect and exact medical causes - will not be released until the investigations are complete.
