ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD)- Arlington Police have released dashboard camera video of a shooting involving officers earlier this month. June 6, police shot and killed Shannon Boyd in Red Kane Park.
Chief Al Jones says they first received a 911 call about three hours earlier from the victim. He says Boyd had showed up at a restaurant in Arlington where the victim was meeting friends.

"He threatened her, he pointed a gun at her and then he left," Jones says.
But Jones says Boyd then started following her and a friend. They turned into the park.
Jones says Boyd told the victim's friend to leave, and the friend called 911.
Jones says officers arrived within four minutes and saw Boyd fire three shots at the woman. He says the officers immediately got out, and three officers fired at Boyd, hitting him.
Jones says officers gave first aid. Boyd died at the hospital.
"Those officers got to the park as fast as they could. I'm proud they took decisive action to stop the threat and save her life," he says.
The victim is still in the hospital facing a "long and difficult" recovery.
The week before the shooting, the victim had filed a police report in Allen saying Boyd had also threatened her at a movie theater.
"Later, we located a tracking device that had been placed underneath the woman's vehicle, which likely explains why Mr. Boyd was able to find her," Jones says.
No officers were hurt. Arlington Police are continuing investigations into the case itself and the officers' response.
