Fort Worth police are inspecting an abandoned car believed to have been involved in a drug deal Wednesday evening.

Police say just before 5:30 p.m. an undercover officer was watching a drug deal go down on the service road near Highway 287 and East Berry.

A car began to drive off and the undercover officer had a marked police car try to pull the suspect's car over. But the driver hit the gas and led a six-minute pursuit which was called off when police lost sight of the car near Hey 287 and Vaughn.

But then police got word of a hit-and-run near 287 and Vaughn and officers believed it was caused by the escaping drug suspect.

Around 7:30 p.m. they found the suspect's car abandoned about three miles away but the drug suspect was nowhere to be found. They impounded the car and are going over if for evidence.
