The Tarrant Appraisal District's board of directors is cracking down on Chief Appraiser Jeff Law.

Reports say the board recently sent Law a four-page letter, outlining 11 main concerns that must be addressed now. Board Secretary and Presiding Officer Rich DeOtte says most of the board's concerns centers around a lack of communication and transparency.

The letter reportedly gives Law ninety days to rectify the issues, and failure to do so would result in further corrective action, including dismissal.

Law says he's already started working to corrent the problems.

The Tarrant Appraisal District has come under fire recently for its perceived lack of transparency.

Board Director Kathryn Wilemon resigned after being recalled by the City of Keller, with the Tarrant County Commissioners Court following suit after the fact.

Last year, the TAD Board of Directors suspended Chief Appraiser Jeff Law without pay for two weeks for his handling of complaints against a real estate agent who helps people protest their property values.
