Tarrant County bar owners and their customers should know today whether the doors can reopen.
The bars have been closed for months because of Coronavirus fears. But last week, Governor Abbott authorized the taverns to reopen with limited capacity and the usual rules about masks and social distancing.
However, the Governor gave county judges the final say.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said no. The county judges in Collin and Denton said yes.
Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley is expected to announce his decision today.
Even the bars that do reopen have to abide by the capacity limits, the mask rules and the usual social distancing policies -- and if the Coronavirus gets worse, Whitley says he can shut the bars down again as fast they opened.
