The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of a deputy who lost her hard-fought battle with cancer.
The Sheriff's department says Deputy Brandi Garcia fought for three years and underwent more than 50 rounds of chemotherapy. She often posted pictures with her service dog, Tyson and wrote about her treatments with positive comments and the promise to keep fighting.
Deputy Garcia passed away at her home Sunday morning. The Sheriff's Department says she's no longer in pain and will be missed.
The Department asks that people keep her family and TCSO team members in prayers in the coming days.
