The Tarrant Appraisal District has suspended an executive after a secret recording surfaced.
The district, known as TAD, had big problems in April when it launched a new website at the same time property value notices were posted.
Property owners weren't able to access key information and the tech troubles lingered.
This month, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, an executive was recorded by a co-worker saying, "I’m OK with creating a false narrative that distances the truth from the media."
The newspaper provided the recording to chief appraiser Jeff Law, who confirmed to KRLD that he suspended the employee pending an investigation.
A TAD statement said the agency is committed to providing the media and public with "accurate and factual" information.
The statement does not name the suspended employee.
