The TCU Horned Frogs take the baseball field at Omaha's Charles Schwab Field for today's opening game of the College World Series.
This is TCU's sixth trip to Omaha and its first since 2017. The Frogs fought their way through the Regionals and Super Regionals as did Oral Roberts so TCU meets the Golden Eagles this afternoon with the first pitch at 1 p.m.
The CWS format calls for two brackets of four teams each. Each bracket plays a double-elimination tournament spaced out over the next six days. The winners emerging from the two brackets then meet in a best-two-out-of-three series to determine the NCAA baseball champion for 2023.
The Horned Frogs enjoyed a raucous send-off from outside Lupton Stadium at TCU with hundreds of fans cheering and waving purple banners and white banners as the team buses pulled away.
