A teenager is said to be in critical condition at a local hospital after being shot in Arlington early Wednesday morning.
Police say they were notified around 4:30 a.m. about gunfire at the Dottie Lynn Rec Center in west Arlington. On arrival they found a chaotic scene where a teenage girl had been shot and was badly wounded.
She was rushed to a local hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
Arlington Police spokesman Tim Ciesco confirms to 1080 KRLD they believe this all started when a group of teens hopped the fence around the rec center swimming pool which has been closed down for the winter.
Police don't know who or why yet but someone opened fire and the girl was hit. Police spent the rest of the morning talking to other teens they believed were present. While detectives have ID'ed some of the teens who were at the pool when the shooting occurred, there are several others they have not.
Police are asking for the public's help to ID these individuals so detectives can speak with them.
If you know who any of those individuals are or if you have any information about this case, please contact Det. Wheetley at (817) 459-5678.
Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
