A man from Tennessee thought he was chatting with an underage girl in Collin County. Turns out it was an undercover agent.
Police say 30-year-old Donald Campfield drove from Tennessee to McKinney to meet who he thought was a 15 year old girl he had been messaging online. It was in fact an undercover CEU investigator.
They say Campfield told, who he thought was a girl, that he would travel to McKinney and stay in a hotel, with the intent of engaging in sex.
When Campfield arrived at a park they agreed to meet at, he saw investigators and took off. After a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody.
Campfield has been charged him with Online Solicitation of a Minor–Sexual Conduct, a 2nd Degree Felony. He also has other felony convictions.
