The search for a missing Flower Mound college student has come to a tragic end.
Reports say Tanner Hoang vanished on December 16th, the day he was supposed to graduate from Texas A&M. When he didn't show up for a family gathering before commencement, his parents grew increasingly worried.
After checking with the university, they learned their son had fallen short of the graduation requirements and would not be part of that day's graduation ceremony. They also learned he had used his debit card to buy gas in Caldwell, about 30 miles west of College Station. But the trail grew cold.
On Friday it was reported his car was found near a hiking trail in Austin, close to the Pennybacker Bridge over the Colorado River. On Saturday, it was further reported that a body had been found nearby.
A friend of Hoang's family has confirmed on social media that the remains are Tanner's. No cause of death has been determined.
