Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched a new email tipline for Texans to report suspected violations of state election law and released updated guidance on election integrity.
The tipline — illegalvoting@oag.texas.gov — allows members of the public to submit complaints about potential voter fraud or other election-related violations. Paxton said his office will review and investigate credible reports to help enforce the Texas Election Code.
In a legal advisory issued alongside the announcement, Paxton pointed to what he described as growth in the state’s noncitizen population and concerns about efforts to improperly influence voter registration and election processes. The guidance outlines who is eligible to register, how voting must be conducted and other legal requirements under Texas law.
Paxton noted that violations of the Texas Election Code can carry serious consequences, including fines and possible jail time, and encouraged citizens and government entities to review the advisory to better understand the rules governing elections in the state.
“Under my watch, there will be no stolen elections in Texas. Free and fair elections are a cornerstone of a thriving republic, and with the authority granted to my office by the Legislature, we will stop at nothing to uncover and stop any illegal voting activity,” said Attorney General Paxton. “I invite all Texans to report suspected violations at our tipline. Your liberties and your representation in our government depend on secure elections. I will continue to protect the integrity of your vote and your voice.”
