The Texas Attorney General has a word of warning for scammers and price gougers during this crisis.
During times of crisis, people come together to help one another out. Unfortunately, there are some with a different agenda, to extract as much money from you as possible.
Utility companies are warning people to look out for scams, such as threatening to disconnect or demanding immediate payment.
And the attorney general's office is on the lookout for price gougers.
Attorney General Ken Paxton urges you to report all instances of essential goods and services having their prices unreasonably increased.
Paxton says through last night, his office has received just over 200 complaints of price gouging, a relatively small number compared to other recent crises, including Hurricane Harvey.
